Bacon Bits Introduction
hello internet world, and all the inhabitants thereof. anyone who knows me knows that it's a little weird that it's taken me this long to become an active player on the blogging scene. but at long last, here i am! to kick things off i am going to post an old blog. 3 years old to be specific. but, i think it's a fairly good introduction to me and it is technically the first blog that i've ever done. so here it is:
well, this blogging thing is kinda new to me. but i figured i might as well start doing it, cuz i have alot of good thoughts. plus i figured it would be a more healthy way of venting. today i wanna talk about support. i was hustling off my cd's the other day. and when i approached this one woman i spit my whole schpiel to this lady and was sangin for her and everything. notice that i said SANGIN, not SINGING! i was doing the damn thing. and this woman after all that told me,i sound real good, but that she would support me when i was famous and mainstream, not while i am unknown and independant. and ontop of all else, it really offends me that this chick was black. now i don't want y'all to think that i am just being extra touchy over this. i have even had one lady tell me that i couldn't sing at all. and you know what? that didn't bother me. cuz that is her opinion and she is entitled to it. i could respect that. there are artists out there now , that the rest of the world loves, but i don't particularly care for their sound and/or style. once i am known and mainstream, let the truth be told , i am not going to need her individual support as much. what she essentially told me is that she doesn't believe in supporting positive black endeavors, unless they are backed by white money. i don't care how many (black) rappers, singers, actors, other entertainers, or athletes we may see on tv, or how much bling they got, let's not ever forget the (white) people who we never see on tv, and who largely speaking are not blinging, who are fronting the money, and then raking in the REALLY big checks. if you don't know of what i speak, check forbes top 500 list and see how many (white) billionaire entertainment and sports moguls there are on there, and then tell me how many (black) billionaire athletes, or entertainers you find on that list. and i can tell you right now, that with the exception of O.W.(oprah) B.J. (bob johnson) and Samuel "yes i think they deserve to die, and i hope they burn in hell" L. Jaxon i can tell you right now, there are none on the list. to be a person of color in this society, and to be unwilling to help another person of color that you see is proactively trying to better themself, their station in life, and thereby their community, is absolutely ridiculous and moreover, it is sad. it is sad because on a whole, we (black people) have been here (america) LONGER than any other minority group of people. yet, collectively we are the only group that has yet to learn that there is strength in numbers, and we need to all band together and support each other in our life and business endeavors. we laugh at mexicans and africans and china men, but who own all the gas stations, corner stores, fast food joints and various other staples (that we give all OUR $$$$ to) in OUR communities? they do. it may be 53 mexicans living in a 2 bed room apt. but you know what, them 53 mexicans ALL get out and do something to bring in dough and then start businesses and get paid on their own terms. africans come to this country, looking for work. but when they find it, they funnell that money back home to their brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, grand parents, whoever, in an attempt to not only improve the quality of their life, but that of their friends and family as well! when i used to work in the corporate office for a furniture store that i used to work for, i would hear stories all the time about packages arriving late to our african customers, that prevented them from sending the stuff back home on the boat. and here is some food for thought, black people are originally from the "muvaland" (africa) right? ok, if the real straight up africans are coming to this country with these moral values already instilled in them, what happened to those of us who are born here, but can trace our roots back there? why have we as a people allowed this western civilization and culture to brainwash us into complacency and "hating" on each other? the point is that they stick together and support each other for the common good of each other. if we are all striving to better ourselves and each one is watching the next man's back, how can we fail? and you know it works, cuz like i said , the forementioned groups of people prove it to us on a daily basis. anyway, i am gonna go back to work, and act like i have a job to do. but that is what was on my mind. y'all gimme some feed back. even if you think i'm trippin. one.
